Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our client’s Upington team, focusing on power systems for renewable energy projects. You will contribute to design, analysis, and maintenance of solar and wind integration, gaining hands-on experience under veteran engineers.

The role emphasizes grid studies, project documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving energy sector, with on‑site training and mentorship opportunities in the Northern Cape

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and power system fundamentals.
Familiarity with simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, MATLAB/Simulink is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist in design and development of electrical systems for renewable energy projects.
Conduct power system studies including load flow, fault analysis, and stability studies.
Prepare technical specifications, drawings and documentation.
Participate in site inspections and commissioning activities.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including civil engineers and project managers.
Troubleshoot electrical system issues and develop practical solutions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Stay updated on new technologies in power systems and renewable energy.
Contribute to project planning and progress tracking.
