Job summary

Ekco in Cape Town seeks a skilled Payroll Manager to lead payroll governance and oversee multi-country payroll operations within the Finance team. You will coordinate inputs, controls, approvals, and provider performance to deliver accurate payroll outputs on time.

The ideal candidate holds a recognised payroll qualification (CPP/IPASS/CIPP or equivalent), has experience with HiBob or similar systems, and excels in analytical thinking, compliance, and stakeholder management to drive payroll

Qualifications

• Qualified payroll professional with CPP/IPASS/CIPP or equivalent.
• Experience with multi-country payrolls through third-party providers.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax, statutory reporting and compliance.
• Experience reviewing payroll outputs and resolving variances.
• Excellent data protection and confidentiality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Govern end-to-end payroll timetable and provider submissions.
• Review payroll changes, outputs and month-on-month movements.
• Ensure compliance with local tax, reporting and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain payroll records, audit trails and access controls.
• Act as first point of contact for payroll queries and stakeholder updates.
• Manage relationships with external payroll providers and drive SLAs.
