Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a knowledgeable Logistics Specialist based in Upington, Northern Cape to manage import/export operations. You will ensure compliant and efficient movement of goods across borders, coordinating with freight forwarders and customs brokers to facilitate global logistics.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in logistics or related field, with at least four years of international logistics experience and strong understanding of customs regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, International Business, SCM, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in import/export operations.
• Deep knowledge of customs procedures and trade compliance.
• Experience with air, sea and road shipping.
• Proficient in ERP, customs software and MS Office.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export shipments for timely, cost-effective transit.
• Prepare documents: invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
• Ensure compliance with national and international customs regulations.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and brokers.
• Track shipments and provide status updates to stakeholders.
• Resolve issues related to customs clearance or delays.
• Maintain accurate records of import/export transactions.
• Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and trade policies.
• Support policy development to improve efficiency and compliance.
