Job summary

Metso seeks a Field Service Technician to deliver professional technical support for Metso equipment, including installation, commissioning, repairs and maintenance. You will work with technical support teams to provide reliable information and excellent customer service, reporting to the Field Service / Life‑Cycle Services Supervisor.

This role is based in Botswana and involves international travel. You will join the FSE Team with a focus on safety, reliability and customer satisfaction while

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) and a Trade Certificate: Fitting.
• Extensive field service experience with mining process equipment, crushers and mills.
• Strong technical, analytical and mechanical skills with ability to work with limited direction.
• Computer literacy and basic office equipment familiarity.
• Understanding of ISO 9001:2008, the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Valid C1 driver’s license and willingness to travel internationally.
• Strong communication, customer relations and teamwork skills.
• Leadership and relationship-building capabilities, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers and Life-Cycle Services teams with timely, high-quality product and technical support on Metso equipment.
• Install and commission equipment; carry out maintenance, repairs, rebuilds and lubrication.
• Inspect, adjust and maintain machinery on site; troubleshoot hydraulics and pneumatics; perform welding/cutting.
• Identify risks of component failure and contribute to reliability improvements.
• Train customers' personnel and build positive customer relationships.
• Coordinate and submit accurate reports and project updates; manage multiple projects.
