Job summary
Placements24 seeks a Geothermal Energy Systems Technician to join the field operations in Welkom. The role focuses on installation, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of geothermal energy systems and related equipment in challenging outdoor conditions.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of hands-on experience with industrial machinery, pumps, turbines, valves, and instrumentation systems, and can read technical manuals and schematics.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working with industrial machinery
- Hands-on experience with pumps, turbines, valves, and instrumentation systems
- Ability to read manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to work outdoors and irregular hours
Responsibilities
- Install, operate, and maintain geothermal plant equipment including turbines, pumps, and heat exchangers
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on all components
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues within the systems
- Monitor performance using control panels and diagnostic tools; adjust operations as needed
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations during all activities
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance, repairs, and operational data
