Placements24 is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Mossel Bay region team, combining field investigations with office-based design. You will assess subsurface conditions and provide expert recommendations for foundation systems supporting commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
- Strong foundation design experience and site investigation background.
- Proficiency with geotechnical software and interpretation of lab data.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, soil sampling, and in-situ testing.
- Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to determine engineering properties and parameters.
- Design shallow and deep foundations (spread footings, piles, rafts) for various structures.
- Provide recommendations for earthworks, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation reports and foundation design documents.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines regarding geotechnical aspects of projects.
