Placements24 is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our client’s Kimberley team. The role focuses on foundation design and site characterization, combining fieldwork with office-based design in a hybrid setup.

You will assess soil conditions, interpret lab data, and deliver robust recommendations for safe, durable structures. The position requires a Geotechnical/Civil degree, Pr.Eng preferred, and at least 6 years of geotechnical experience with familiar software such as Plaxis and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of geotechnical engineering and foundation design experience.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software Plaxis and GeoStudio.
• Experience with site investigation techniques and laboratory testing interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise geotechnical investigations including boreholes and in-situ testing.
• Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to determine properties.
• Design shallow and deep foundations for diverse structures.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports with recommendations and parameters.
• Liaise with project managers, structural engineers and contractors on geotechnical matters.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
