Our client is looking for a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Mossel Bay, contributing to both mining and energy sector projects. This role involves assessing ground conditions, providing recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, and excavation support. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and stability of construction sites and infrastructure, applying your expertise in soil mechanics and rock mechanics to solve complex geological challenges. This hybrid position offers a blend of fieldwork and office-based analysis, allowing for impactful contributions to critical projects in the Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
• Perform laboratory testing and analysis of soil and rock samples.
• Analyze geotechnical data to assess ground conditions and potential risks.
• Provide design recommendations for foundations, retaining walls, and earthworks.
• Assess slope stability and design remedial measures for landslides or erosion.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including interpretations and recommendations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
