Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their established team based in Cape Town . This role is critical for assessing ground conditions and providing expert advice for a variety of construction and infrastructure projects across the Western Cape . You will be responsible for investigating soil and rock mechanics, designing foundations, and mitigating geotechnical risks. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed site investigations, including soil borings, sampling, and in-situ testing.

• Design appropriate foundation systems (e.g., shallow foundations, deep piles) based on site conditions and project requirements.
• Oversee construction activities related to geotechnical aspects, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and clients on all geotechnical matters.
• Utilize specialized geotechnical software for analysis and modeling.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in geotechnical investigations and design.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, GeoStudio, or similar.
• Experience with a wide range of South African soil and rock conditions.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
