Placements24 is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineer for its Sandton team in Gauteng. The role focuses on evaluating ground conditions, advising on foundation design and earthworks, and coordinating site investigations for major projects across Gauteng.

The candidate should have a geotechnical or civil engineering degree with at least 7 years of experience; registration (Pr Eng) is desirable, and proficiency in Plaxis and GeoStudio is preferred. This is an on-site opportunity in Sandton.

About the Role

Our client, a renowned engineering consultancy, is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Sandton. You will be responsible for planning and overseeing site investigations, analyzing soil and rock mechanics, and developing robust engineering solutions to mitigate geotechnical risks. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage geotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling and in-situ testing.

• Develop geotechnical reports, specifications, and drawings for construction projects in Sandton .

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr Eng) with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in geotechnical engineering , focusing on foundation design and site investigations.
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and engineering geology.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, with experience in the Gauteng region preferred.
