Placements24 is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our client’s Pretoria team. The role focuses on assessing subsurface conditions and advising on civil projects, from large developments to specialized foundations.

You will plan site investigations, analyze soil/rock data, design foundations and slope stability measures, and prepare geotechnical reports with risk assessments, working in a hybrid setup across Gauteng region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GEO5).
• Knowledge of South African soil conditions and relevant engineering codes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
• Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to determine engineering properties.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, and slope stability solutions.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, including risk assessments and recommendations.
• Provide technical support during construction, addressing any geotechnical issues that arise.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant geotechnical standards and safety regulations.
