Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Commercial Van Driver for George and surrounding areas to safely transport commercial goods and meet daily delivery targets. You will manage loading/unloading, route planning, and maintain records while delivering high service standards.

The role requires a Code 10 with PDP, 4+ years’ experience in van or light truck operations, and a clean driving record. You will work autonomously within a safety-driven logistics team in George.

Qualifications

• Valid South African Code 10 driving license plus PDP.
• Minimum 4 years verified experience as a commercial driver, van or light truck preferred.
• Physically capable of handling goods up to 30 kg.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proven time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Clean driving record and criminal clearance.
• Capable of autonomous work with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Familiar with basic vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vans safely on scheduled routes in George and surrounds.
• Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing freight.
• Meet daily delivery targets with high accuracy.
• Inspect vehicle and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain detailed records of deliveries and incidents.
• Build positive relationships with clients through professional interactions.
• Ensure compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
• Optimize routes considering traffic and priorities.
• Coordinate with dispatch to update progress and address challenges.
• Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
