Job summary

Placements24 in George, Western Cape, is seeking an experienced Commercial Vehicle Driver to join a prominent logistics client. You will operate heavy-duty trucks, adhere to delivery schedules, and uphold high safety and cargo integrity standards.

We require 3–5 years of verifiable driving experience, a Code 10/EC with PDP and a clean driving record, plus flexibility for evenings or weekends. Benefits include access to a modern fleet, ongoing training and performance incentives.

Qualifications

• Valid professional driver's license (Code 10/EC with PDP) and a pristine driving record.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience driving commercial vehicles.
• Proficiency in operating heavy-duty trucks and understanding of their mechanics.
• Familiarity with Western Cape road networks and broader SA routes.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
• Must pass medical examination and drug screening.
• Proof of eligibility to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and trailers, for the transport of freight.
• Adhere to designated routes and delivery schedules, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
• Conduct thorough pre-and post-trip inspections of vehicles, documenting maintenance needs.
• Securely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery records as per company and regulatory requirements.
• Represent the client professionally when interacting with clients and the public during transit.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions immediately to management.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
