Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Geological Technician to support exploration drilling near Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will assist geologists with collection, logging, and preliminary analysis of borehole data, ensuring accurate data capture and safe field practices.

The role offers hands-on training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities to grow within a dynamic mineral exploration team focused on identifying new resource potential in the region.

Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in Geology/Earth Science or related field.
1–3 years of experience as a Geological Technician or similar role.
Basic understanding of geological logging and sample handling procedures.
Familiarity with field equipment and safety practices in a mining environment.

Responsibilities

Assist geologists in supervising and executing exploration drilling operations.
Log drill core, chip samples, and related geological data.
Prepare and label geological samples for assaying and analysis.
Maintain geological field equipment and drilling sites.
Record drilling parameters (depth, ROP, ground conditions).
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental standards on drill sites.
