Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Manager for Randburg, Gauteng. You will oversee projects from feasibility through construction, commissioning and handover, leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on time and within budget in a dynamic energy market.

The role requires a strong technical background in solar/wind, hands-on management of EPC contracts, and superior leadership and communication skills to coordinate with clients and regulators in South Africa.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in project management, including renewable energy.
• 3+ years specifically in renewable energy (solar, wind, or storage).
• Experience managing EPC contracts and working with international suppliers/contractors.
• Strong understanding of grid integration and SA regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with project management software and financial tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of renewable energy projects from development to handover.
• Develop detailed project plans: scope, budgets, schedules, resources.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement and construction teams.
• Ensure SHE safety and quality standards throughout lifecycle.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks with contingency plans.
• Manage project finances, track expenditures and budgets.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, authorities and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress with KPIs and report to senior management.
• Lead problem-solving for technical and operational challenges.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of PM processes.
