Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Childminder & Aftercare Specialist in George, Western Cape. The role involves supervising 5-12 year olds after school, assisting with homework, and planning engaging activities to support development in a nurturing, safe environment.

You will coordinate with parents, implement safety protocols, and deliver healthy snacks while promoting positive peer interactions. This is a full-time, in-person position based in George.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare, babysitting or aftercare.
• Patience and nurturing disposition with children.
• Ability to manage multiple children and keep calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise safety and well-being of children aged 5-12 during aftercare.
• Assist with homework and provide academic support.
• Plan and lead engaging activities (crafts, games, reading, outdoor play).
• Prepare snacks and ensure hydration.
• Maintain clean play and study areas and follow safety procedures.
• Communicate with parents about daily progress and concerns.
