Placements24 is seeking an energetic Aftercare Facilitator to supervise primary school-aged children after school hours in Randburg, Gauteng. This part-time role focuses on providing a safe, engaging environment where kids complete homework, play, and socialise, under your guidance.

The ideal candidate demonstrates genuine interest in child development, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage a group effectively.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with school-aged children is essential.
• A passion for working with children and supporting their development.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize and lead activities for groups of children.
• Patience, responsibility, and reliability.
• First Aid or CPR certification is a strong advantage.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Basic understanding of homework assistance techniques.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children aged between 6 and 12 years old during after-school hours.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care.
• Assist children with their homework, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Organize and lead recreational activities, games, and crafts.
• Foster a positive and inclusive social environment for the children.
• Manage group dynamics and address behavioral issues constructively.
• Prepare and serve snacks and beverages to the children.
• Maintain a clean and orderly aftercare space.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's day and any concerns.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and operational policies and procedures.
