Placements24 is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder in Randburg to manage international and domestic shipments, optimise transit times and costs, and ensure compliance with customs regulations.

You will coordinate air, sea, and land movements, prepare bills of lading and customs declarations, liaise with brokers and clients, and track cargo every step of the way.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Freight Forwarder to manage the movement of goods for their international and domestic shipments from their Randburg office. This role is crucial for coordinating logistics, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers and clients. You will be responsible for arranging shipments via air, sea, and land, optimizing transit times and costs. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of international trade and logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and coordinate the shipment of goods via various transportation modes (air, sea, land).
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations.
• Liaise with customs brokers, carriers, and clients to ensure smooth and compliant transit of goods.
• Track shipments and provide timely updates to clients on their cargo status.
• Negotiate rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the shipping process.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a related international logistics role.
• Thorough knowledge of international shipping regulations , customs procedures, and documentation.
• Strong understanding of different transportation modes and their associated costs and transit times.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and standard office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment in Randburg .
