Placements24 is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder in Polokwane to manage international and domestic shipments from our office. You will liaise with carriers, customs authorities, and clients to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-efficient transport.

The role requires strong knowledge of global trade, Incoterms, and logistics networks, with emphasis on coordinating complex shipments and optimizing transit times and costs for our diverse client base.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• Solid understanding of shipping terms, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and documentation systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and coordinate the transportation of goods via air, sea, and land, managing all aspects of the shipping process.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and invoices.
• Liaise with customs brokers, airlines, shipping lines, and other third-party logistics providers.
• Track shipments, provide status updates to clients, and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
• Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations, tariffs, and customs laws.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing for clients.
