Job summary

Stellenbosch Hotel is seeking a dedicated Food Service Ambassador to join our team in Stellenbosch. You will work across food and beverage outlets, from room service to conference and events, ensuring a warm welcome, seating guests, and delivering a seamless dining experience with personalized service.

The role requires at least two years of waiter experience, strong knowledge of food and wine, and the ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience as a Food Service Ambassador (Waiter).
• Experience in hotel restaurant environment preferred.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Good knowledge of food & wine.
• Micros experience required.
• Customer service oriented and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare service area and set up outlets.
• Welcome, seat guests and take orders.
• Serve guests from start to finish of dining or events.
• Provide personalized guest experiences and upsell products.
• Meet or exceed sales targets.

As a Food Service Ambassador, you will work in any food and beverage outlet such as room service, restaurant and conference and events. You will prepare the area for service, welcome and seat guests, serve guests from the start to the finish of their dining or conference experience whilst providing personalized guest experience, upselling products, and meeting targets.

Requirements

• Minimum two years’ experience as a Food Service Ambassador (Waiter)
• Previous employment within the hotel restaurant industry will be to your advantage
• Must be able to work shifts, weekends & public holidays as per roster
• Good knowledge of food & wine
• Basic barista skills will be to your advantage
• Strong communication skills and telephone etiquette
• Willing to help out where need
• Friendly personality and professional appearance
• Must be customer service orientated
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Micros experience will be required
• Must live the company values
