Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager for a leading FMCG manufacturer in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will oversee QA processes, develop and maintain QMS, and ensure products meet stringent quality and safety standards across the product lifecycle.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field and at least 6 years in QA within FMCG, with proven leadership and strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and ISO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 6 years in Quality Assurance within FMCG.
• Experience developing and implementing QMS (HACCP, GMP, ISO).
• Proven leadership of a QA team.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Excellent analytical and error-detection skills.
• Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
• Proficiency with quality management software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a QMS (ISO, HACCP, GMP).
• Oversee QA activities: raw materials, in-process, finished product testing.
• Lead and mentor the QA team, including training and performance management.
• Conduct internal audits and manage regulatory and customer audits.
• Investigate deviations, CAPAs, and customer complaints.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices.
• Collaborate with production, R&D, and other departments to drive improvement.
• Monitor quality data, identify trends, and implement quality improvements.
• Maintain documentation for QA activities.
• Stay updated on standards and advancements in FMCG quality.
