Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Production Supervisor for its FMCG client in Soweto, Gauteng. You will oversee daily production activities, guide teams, and drive continuous improvements to ensure quality and safety on the factory floor.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in production or supervisory roles within FMCG, strong leadership and communication skills, and a proactive approach to operational challenges.

Qualifications

• A Grade 12 certificate is essential.
• Relevant qualification in Production/Operations Management is advantageous.
• 3–5 years of production or supervisory experience, preferably FMCG.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production staff to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing of FMCG products.
• Monitor production lines, ensuring adherence to established quality control standards and product specifications.
• Implement and enforce safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Train and mentor production team members, providing guidance on operational procedures and best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement immediate solutions to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate production records, including output, waste, and adherence to schedules.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is in good working order and minimize operational disruptions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure efficient use of raw materials and resources on the production floor.
• Communicate effectively with shift managers and other departmental leads regarding production status and needs.
