Placements24 is seeking an Elderly Care Companion to provide companionship and light assistance in Randburg, Gauteng. You will engage in conversation, support daily activities, and help maintain a safe, comfortable home environment for seniors.

The role emphasizes empathy, reliable communication with clients and families, and flexibility to cover evenings or weekends as needed. Previous elderly care experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in elderly care or companionship preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patient and empathetic demeanor.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy; respect client confidentiality.
• Able to perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.

Responsabilités

• Provide consistent companionship and engage in stimulating conversation with elderly clients.
• Assist clients with non-medical tasks such as light housekeeping, meal prep, and groceries.
• Accompany clients on errands, appointments and social outings.
• Monitor clients' well-being and report changes to the care coordinator.
