Placements24 in South Africa is seeking compassionate Caregivers to support elderly clients in their homes in Klerksdorp, North West. This part-time role focuses on daily living assistance, companionship, and promoting independence in familiar surroundings.

You will perform personal care, monitor safety, assist with mobility, prepare meals, light housekeeping, accompany to appointments, and maintain accurate care records.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiver experience, preferably with the elderly.
• Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy and a compassionate attitude toward clients.
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and care plans.
• Physical stamina for lifting and standing tasks.
• Valid identification and right to work in South Africa.
• Willingness to undergo a background check.
• Basic literacy and numeracy for record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation safely.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor side effects.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
• Perform light housekeeping (tidying, laundry, dishes).
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and errands.
• Provide companionship and engage in activities to combat loneliness.
• Monitor vital signs and report significant changes to supervisor.
• Ensure a safe living environment and address hazards.
• Maintain accurate care records and any incidents.
