Placements24 is seeking a diligent Fleet Management Specialist to oversee vehicle operations in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will schedule maintenance, monitor performance, manage fuel costs, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong organizational skills and effective communication with drivers and service providers. Proficiency with fleet software and data reporting will help optimise fleet efficiency, costs, and safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related operational role.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, repair scheduling, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in using fleet management software and standard office applications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, mechanics, and management.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the company's vehicle fleet, including scheduling maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and utilization to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure all vehicles comply with relevant regulations, licensing, and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, insurance, and registration.
• Coordinate with external service providers for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Implement and manage fuel card programs and monitor fuel expenses.
• Develop and enforce fleet safety policies and procedures.
• Provide support and training to drivers on vehicle operation, safety, and company policies.
• Manage accident reporting and claims processes.
• Generate regular reports on fleet status, costs, and performance metrics for management.
