Job summary

Right Side Up Distribution is seeking an experienced JHB Fleet/Operations Assistant for our Kempton Park branch. You will oversee national fleet tasks, vehicle inspections, tyre and fuel management, and coordinate 3rd party service providers within a busy operations environment.

The role requires 3–5 years of fleet management experience, Grade 12 (NQF3 beneficial), and proven reliability, communication, and planning abilities to ensure timely task execution and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate (NQF level 3 beneficial).
• 3–5 years fleet management experience required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Strong organisational and planning skills (e.g., shift handover plans).
• Vehicle and fleet knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle inspections and tyre management.
• Branding and vehicle appearance quality control.
• Liaison with 3rd party service providers (Lancewell / ATS / Tent & Tarps / Royal Truck Washing).
• Battery management and fuel management.
• Handle breakdowns (mechanical & tyre) and repairs.
• Vehicle tracking and monitoring.
• Fleet spare key management and pallet jack control.
• Empty pallet management and workshop control.
• Tool management and service schedules for vehicles and trailers.
• CoF / roadworthy / licence expiry date tracking.
• Tail lifts and forklift management.
• Load testing and rental fleet coordination.
• PO obtaining and recon and general facility management.
• Risk investigations and health & safety officer functions.
