Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Commercial Vehicle Fleet Manager to lead our client’s fleet operations from Rustenburg. You will shape strategic plans, oversee maintenance, and drive cost efficiency while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a strong track record in fleet management, budgeting, and vendor liaison. You will lead a team, optimize asset use, and implement data-driven improvements using fleet management software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in commercial fleet management.
• In-depth knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle mechanics and maintenance procedures.
• Proven budget management and cost control experience within fleet operations.
• Strong understanding of transportation laws, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and data analysis.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
• Valid driver's license; professional driving qualification is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic fleet management plans to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, including scheduling servicing, repairs, and inspections.
• Manage procurement, leasing, and disposal of fleet vehicles and optimize fleet size.
• Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure driver and vehicle safety.
• Monitor fleet performance metrics like fuel, mileage, and costs for improvements.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, licensing, and insurance requirements.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, maintenance providers, and vendors.
• Develop and manage the fleet budget, controlling expenses and ROI.
• Utilize fleet management software to track assets and generate reports.
• Lead and motivate the fleet management team.
