Job summary

SA Metal Group in Germiston is seeking a Transport Controller to organize logistics and ensure smooth operation. You will report to the Transport Manager and oversee day-to-day transport needs, driver dispatch, and safety compliance.

The role requires 3–5 years in fleet control, a Grade 12, and advantageous Transport Management qualification. Strong leadership and Microsoft Office skills are essential for daily reporting and coordination.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ fleet controlling experience.
• Transport Management qualification an added advantage.
• Code 14 licence and PrDP an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage day to day transport service requirements.
• Dispatching / debriefing drivers.
• Daily tracking reports and updates.
• First point of contact for drivers.
• Ensure highest possible customer service levels.
• Oversee truck drivers and ensure adherence to procedures.
• Liaise with management on driver related issues.
• Ensure Occupational Health and Safety requirements are met.
• Capture and report faults and breakdowns on trucks.
