Placements24 is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to manage fleet maintenance in Klerksdorp. You will diagnose, repair, and service diesel engines, transmissions, and braking systems across a diverse fleet of trucks and heavy equipment.

The ideal candidate has a recognized Diesel Mechanic qualification and proven hands-on experience with diagnostic software and heavy-vehicle electrical systems. A strong safety focus and reliable time management are essential.

Qualifications

Certified Diesel Mechanic with recognized qualification.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and repair procedures.
Experience using diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools for heavy vehicles.
Experience with hydraulic systems and air brakes.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, suspension, and braking systems.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, tire rotation, and system checks.
Utilize diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to identify mechanical issues and ensure accurate repairs.
Maintain accurate service and repair records for all vehicles in the fleet.
Ensure all vehicles comply with safety regulations and roadworthiness standards.
Respond to roadside breakdowns or urgent repair requests to minimize vehicle downtime.
