Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Experience on diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, plant or heavy machinery.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Perform engine overhauls, repairs and component replacements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and identify the root cause of breakdowns.
• Ensure repairs and maintenance meet safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
• Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.
• Keep tools and work areas safe and well-organised.
