Our client, a rapidly expanding national retail distributor, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Delivery Specialist to manage critical delivery operations in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth flow of goods from distribution centers to various retail outlets and directly to consumers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of logistics, route optimization, and fleet management within the South African context. You will be responsible for overseeing a fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and maintaining high standards of service delivery. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to foster strong relationships with drivers and operational teams. While the role primarily involves on-the-ground coordination, there will be a hybrid element allowing for some remote administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of a fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring efficient routing and timely deliveries throughout Durban and surrounding KwaZulu-Natal regions.
• Monitor driver performance and conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback.
• Coordinate with the logistics and dispatch teams to manage schedules and address any disruptions.
• Ensure all fleet vehicles are maintained in excellent working condition, scheduling regular servicing and repairs.
• Verify compliance with all transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Manage inventory of delivery supplies and ensure vehicles are properly equipped for each route.
• Investigate and resolve any delivery-related issues, customer complaints, or accidents promptly.
• Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and delivery progress.

Requirements

• Valid Code 10 driver's license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in fleet management, logistics coordination, or a similar supervisory role in transport.
• In-depth knowledge of the Durban and KwaZulu-Natal road networks.
• Proven experience with route planning and optimization software.
