About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and dedicated Fitness Facility Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of their state-of-the-art fitness center in Centurion, Gauteng . This role is crucial for ensuring a seamless, safe, and highly satisfactory experience for all members and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility management, customer service, and staff leadership within the health and fitness industry. You will be responsible for maintaining operational efficiency, managing budgets, implementing policies, and driving member satisfaction to uphold our client's reputation for excellence. This position requires a hands-on approach and a commitment to fostering a positive and energetic environment. You will play a key role in the continued success and growth of the fitness facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of daily fitness facility operations, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of fitness staff, including trainers and front desk personnel.
• Manage facility maintenance, cleanliness, and equipment upkeep to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
• Control operational budgets, including payroll, supplies, and maintenance costs, optimizing for cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
• Drive member satisfaction through excellent customer service and by addressing feedback effectively.
• Manage inventory of fitness supplies and retail products.
• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to support membership growth and retention initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Sports Science, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the fitness, leisure, or hospitality industry.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to fitness facilities.
• Excellent financial acumen and experience in budget management.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in facility management software and MS Office Suite.

• A passion for health, fitness, and creating positive member experiences.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is required.
