Alexforbes in South Africa seeks a passionate Financial Planning Consultant who thrives on client-focused, sales-driven advice to shape long-term investment journeys. You will tailor financial plans, explain investment options, and stay aligned with company philosophy.

In this hybrid role, you’ll manage corporate and individual client relationships, develop strategies to win new business, and deliver on agreed plans while upholding compliance and excellent service.

Qualifications

• Matric (essential).
• Recognised FAIS related qualification and credits.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Financial Advisor.
• Strong knowledge of investments and life products.
• Understanding of corporate and individual client environments.
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• CFP (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Identify client investment needs, risk profile and horizons.
• Provide written recommendations based on client discussions.
• Explain portfolio performance and investment principles to clients.
• Develop strategies to win and manage business with corporate accounts.
• Maintain relationships with key staff in corporate accounts.
• Source new business from retained clients and referrals.
• Deliver advice in line with FPC systems and policies.
• Resolve client concerns and client queries promptly.

Job description

We are looking for a passionate, client-focused and sales driven Financial Planning Consultant professional to transform financial journeys through trusted advice, innovative technology and impactful solutions that empower clients to achieve their long-term investment goals.

Key Focus Areas:

• Identify a client’s investment needs, risk tolerance and profile, other investments (and other assets), personal circumstances, income requirements, investment time horizon etc
• Make a written recommendation based on a client’s responses to the risk profile questionnaire and subsequent discussions
• Provide the client with information on the performance of the various investment portfolios available
• Educate the clients with regards to basic investment principles, i.e. risk versus reward, market sentiment, trends, performance (offshore and local), benchmarks etc
• Ensure that the clients investment portfolio is consistent with FPC’s investment philosophy
• Provide ongoing financial planning advice to “retained” clients
• Develop and implement strategies to obtain and manage business opportunities arising within assigned Corporate accounts
• Manage and strengthen relationships with key staff in assigned Corporate
• Resolve client concerns, queries and/or complaints
• Source new business from retained clients and by means of referrals
• Implement and process advice in the line with FPC systems and policies
• Support Alexforbes client related strategies and deliver key goals as contained in an approved business plan

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Financial Advisor
• Strong knowledge of investments and life products
• Understanding of corporate and individual client environments
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle

• CFP (advantageous)
