Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, payroll, cost accounting).
• Develop accounting policies and procedures for compliance and efficiency.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements for management and external stakeholders.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes.
• Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy.
• Oversee tax compliance and engage with external advisors as needed.
• Conduct profitability, cost-reduction, and investment analyses.
• Manage relationships with banks and auditors; lead finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cost accounting.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and improve efficiency.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
• Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Oversee tax compliance and filings, working with external tax advisors as needed.
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including profitability analysis, cost reduction initiatives, and investment evaluations.
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions.
• Lead and develop the finance and accounting team.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• A professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 3 years in a financial controller or similar senior management position.
• Demonstrated experience in the manufacturing industry is essential, with a strong understanding of cost accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills are mandatory.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS, South African tax laws, and corporate governance requirements.
