Placements24 is recruiting an experienced Financial Accountant for our client in East London, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on IFRS-compliant financial reporting, general ledger management, and costing in a manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with the finance team to support analysis and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance with 4–6 years’ experience, IFRS knowledge, and proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Pastel).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification preferred.
• 4–6 years of financial accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proficient in IFRS and SA accounting standards.
• ERP systems experience (SAP, Oracle, Pastel) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review IFRS-compliant financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Assist with inventory accounting and costing analysis.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with accurate data.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
• Develop internal controls to safeguard assets and improve processes.
• Prepare financial reports and analyses for management.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in the accounting department.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company located in East London, Eastern Cape , is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to manage their financial operations. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, managing general ledger functions, and supporting the financial planning and analysis activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing accounting principles, robust analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage financial data effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Pastel) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Understanding of cost accounting principles in a manufacturing context.
