Job summary

JVR Software is seeking an experienced accountant to manage end-to-end accounting processes up to trial balance in a high-volume environment in Cape Town.

You will handle creditors, debtors and cashbooks, perform bank reconciliations, and support month-end/year-end closes while ensuring GAAP compliance and strong financial controls. Pastel proficiency is essential and articles backing advancement are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level accounting qualification with emphasis on GAAP/IFRS where applicable.
• Completed articles are advantageous for progression to senior roles.
• Experience in high-volume hospitality/retail/FMCG environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting processes through to trial balance.
• Manage creditors, debtors and cashbooks.
• Perform bank processing and reconciliations.
• Complete general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end processes.
• Prepare information and supporting documentation for auditors.
• Manage cost-of-sales and food-cost accounting.
• Ensure accurate and efficient GAAP-related accounting processes.
• Provide financial support to operational managers.
• Maintain accuracy and financial control across a high-volume transactional environment.
