Job summary

Dawn Field is seeking a FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN for underground mining equipment stationed in Lydenburg/Rustenburg. The role focuses on maintaining electrical and mechanical systems on underground machinery, ensuring reliability and safety in challenging conditions.

Ideal candidates bring a Grade 12, a recognized trade test, 3+ years in underground mining, and a red ticket certificate of fitness with a valid Code 08 license. Strong fault-finding and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Recognised Trade Test in Diesel Mechanics, Auto Electrical or Millwright (Section 13 and/or 26).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an underground mechanised mining environment.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining TMM LHDs, dump trucks, drill rigs and roof bolters.
• Valid Certificate of Fitness (Red Ticket).
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence.
• Experience in electrical fault-finding, maintenance and repairs.
• Knowledge of mining safety procedures and compliance.
• Strong troubleshooting, recordkeeping and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems on underground mining equipment, ensuring equipment reliability and safety.
