Job summary

Sandvik Mining seeks a skilled technician to provide mechanical maintenance in an underground mining setting. You will maintain and improve machines to ensure high reliability, availability and cost efficiency in line with safety standards.

Requirements include Grade 12/N3 or equivalent, a Section 26D Trade Certificate with apprenticeship proof, basic computer literacy, and at least five years of experience in mining, including mechanized and underground environments.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent technical qualification.
• Section 26D Trade Certificate with apprenticeship proof.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Proficiency in English.
• Minimum 5 years mining experience.
• 5 years of mechanized mining experience.
• Underground mining environment experience.
• Maintenance of earthmoving equipment in mining environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical maintenance operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective actions, document outcomes and root causes.
• Follow standard operating procedures and maintenance plans.
• Achieve maintenance targets and ensure quality and cleanliness standards.
• Communicate operational status and deviations clearly.
• Adhere to safety requirements and 5S housekeeping.
• Pursue continuous improvements at personal and operational levels.
