Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Solar Energy Technician for Mossel Bay to install, maintain and troubleshoot solar PV systems for residential and commercial clients. The role combines hands-on field work with occasional office support for project coordination, in the scenic Western Cape region.
The ideal candidate has technical qualifications in electrical or renewable energy, proven solar installation experience, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Qualifications
- Technical qualification or certification in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy.
- Experience as Solar Technician or similar electrical installation role.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and maintain solar PV panels, inverters, and related electrical equipment.
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting of existing solar installations.
- Ensure installations meet electrical safety standards and local codes.
- Assist in site assessments and provide input for system design.
- Manage inventory of parts and tools, ensuring readiness for field assignments.
