Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Solar Energy Technician for Mossel Bay to install, maintain and troubleshoot solar PV systems for residential and commercial clients. The role combines hands-on field work with occasional office support for project coordination, in the scenic Western Cape region.

The ideal candidate has technical qualifications in electrical or renewable energy, proven solar installation experience, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and maintain solar PV panels, inverters, and associated electrical equipment.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot issues with existing solar installations.
• Ensure all installations meet electrical safety standards and local building codes.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain system operations and maintenance requirements.
• Assist in site assessments and provide technical input for system design.
• Manage inventory of parts and tools, ensuring readiness for field assignments.

Requirements

• Technical qualification or certification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related trade.
• Proven experience as a Solar Technician or in a similar electrical installation role.
• Understanding of solar PV system components , wiring, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Mossel Bay area and surrounding regions.
