Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Renewable Energy Technician to join our field operations in Benoni. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, and repair of solar PV systems, with potential wind turbine work, requiring hands-on technical proficiency and safety consciousness.

You will perform on-site diagnostics, commissioning support, and meticulous reporting. A relevant technical qualification and at least 2 years’ renewable energy experience are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a technician in renewable energy, specifically solar PV.
• Relevant technical qualification or certification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related trade.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various work sites.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, safety procedures, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair solar PV systems and related equipment.
• Perform routine checks and diagnostic tests to ensure optimal system performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with renewable energy installations.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and industry standards during fieldwork.
• Assist with the commissioning of new renewable energy systems.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including maintenance logs and repair reports.
