Job summary

Reunert Connect is looking for a Field Services Team Leader to guide a team in the installation, maintenance, callouts and troubleshooting of wireless and microwave systems. You will ensure safety, client satisfaction and adherence to standards while coordinating field activities and mentoring junior technicians.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on technical skills, and a proactive approach to service delivery across South Africa. Travel to client sites will be regularly expected.

Qualifications

• NQF Level 4 qualification or equivalent; technical certifications in wireless technologies are advantageous.
• Valid Working at Heights Certification (mandatory).
• Medical Certificate confirming fitness for duty at heights (mandatory).
• Additional certifications such as First Aid and Firefighting are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain wireless networking equipment and microwave systems.
• Lead and coordinate field installations, maintenance, and callouts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, service activities and inventory.
• Provide exceptional customer service and basic training on wireless equipment when required.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance during installations and maintenance.

Reunert Connect is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Services Team Leader to join our Field Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, callout, and troubleshooting of wireless and related services, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance for our clients.Your technical expertise will be essential in deploying and servicing state-of-the-art wireless technologies, while your leadership abilities will contribute to guiding and supporting your team in delivering superior connectivity solutions.

• Install, configure, and maintain wireless networking equipment, includingaccess points, routers, microwave systems, and related devices
• Ensure all installations adhere to company standards and specific client requirements

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to wireless and microwave systems
• Performroutine maintenance and necessary repairsto ensure uninterrupted service delivery
• Respond tocallouts and emergency requeststimeously and effectively

System Testing

• Conduct thorough testing of wireless equipment to verify properfunctionality and performance
• Address any discrepancies or faults promptly and accurately

Documentation

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records ofinstallations, service activities, and inventory
• Ensure all documentation is accessible and properly filed for future reference

Customer Interaction

• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients
• Offertechnical support and basic trainingon the use of wireless equipment where required
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times

Safety Compliance

• Adhere strictly to allsafety protocols and industry regulationsduring installations and maintenance activities
• Ensure a safe working environment for yourself, your team, and clients at all times
• Work closely with fellow technicians and internal departments tocoordinate installations and share technical knowledge
• Lead and support junior team members, providingguidance and mentorshipin the field
• Resolve complex technical issues efficiently through effective collaboration

Vehicle Maintenance

• Ensure the company vehicle isoperated safely and maintained in good working condition
• Conduct regular inspections, arrange timely servicing, and address mechanical issues promptly to minimise downtime

Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate records of alltools, equipment, and spare partsstored in the vehicle
• Regularly check stock levels, reorder items as necessary, and ensure all equipment is accounted for and in proper working order

Qualifications & Education

• NQF Level 4 qualification or equivalent(technical certifications in wireless technologies or related fields will be advantageous)

Experience

• Minimum of5 years' experiencein the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting ofwireless and microwave communication systems
• Proven track record in afield services or telecommunications environment

Technical Skills

• Proficiency inwireless technologies, network configurations, and the use of diagnostic tools
• Solid understanding ofmicrowave communication systems and wireless networking equipment
• Fully computer literate, including proficiency inMicrosoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel

Physical Requirements

• Ability towork at heightsand in various environmental conditions
• Physical fitness to perform climbing and outdoor work as required
• Ability tolift and carry heavy equipmentwhere applicable
