Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Technician to support power generation equipment in the Welkom area. You will perform installation, maintenance, and repairs, respond to service calls, and provide on-site technical support to clients in the energy sector.

The role requires a technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, at least 3 years of field experience, and strong diagnostic skills. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification or certification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related trade.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Technician, preferably in power generation or heavy industry.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field setting.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of power generation equipment (generators, turbines, etc.).
• Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot equipment failures to identify root causes.
• Respond promptly to service requests and ensure efficient resolution of technical issues.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports, and inventory of spare parts.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical assistance and basic training to customer personnel as needed.
