Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to support their growing power generation services in Pretoria. You will install, maintain, and repair sophisticated energy systems at client sites, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

Strong diagnostics and on-site customer focus are essential. The role requires mechanical/electrical expertise, willingness to travel regionally, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Field Service Technician in power generation or heavy industrial equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills; able to read manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Willingness to travel within the region and work flexible hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on power generation equipment, turbines, generators and control systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Install and commission new equipment per technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
• Provide on-site technical support and guidance to clients on operation and maintenance best practices.
• Maintain accurate service records of work performed and parts used.
