Job summary

Placements24 seeks a dedicated Field Service Technician in Mahikeng to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair power generation units at client sites, ensuring reliability of critical energy infrastructure.

The role requires a trade qualification and at least five years of hands-on experience, with willingness to travel across the North West. You will read manuals and schematics, document activities, and uphold safety standards in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience servicing power generation equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and diagnostics on power generation equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic issues.
• Install and commission new power generation systems per specs.
• Read manuals, blueprints and schematics to guide repairs and maintenance.
• Respond to emergency service calls to minimize downtime.
• Document all service activities, parts used and recommendations.
