Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostics on power generation equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control systems on-site.
• Respond to service calls and emergencies to minimize downtime.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Field Service Technician to support their operations in the Centurion area. This role is essential for maintaining the operational status of power generation equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency for our clients. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of power systems, often at client sites. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem-solver with a strong technical aptitude for mechanical and electrical systems, dedicated to providing excellent on-site support and contributing to the reliability of the energy infrastructure .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on power generation equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues on-site.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency breakdowns, minimizing downtime.
• Conduct performance testing and ensure all equipment operates within specified parameters.
• Maintain accurate service records, including parts usage and labor hours.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a relevant trade certification (e.g., Millwright, Electrician).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Technician, preferably in the power generation or industrial equipment sector.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills related to engines, generators, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned region and work flexible hours when required.
