Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our Upington team. You will install, commission, service, and repair a range of industrial equipment at client sites across the region.

The role requires extensive travel, deep technical knowledge, and strong problem-solving abilities to minimize downtime for clients. A valid driver’s license and independent work capability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar in industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical controls.
• Able to read manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and set up new industrial equipment at client locations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and calibration on machinery as per service schedules.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Repair or replace faulty components to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Provide technical assistance and training to client operators and maintenance staff.
• Maintain detailed service reports with parts used and time spent.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and client site safety regulations.
