Job summary

Weir Minerals is seeking an on-site maintenance artisan in the Western Cape to refurbish pumps to OEM standards and perform on-site service and repairs. The role requires a qualified artisan (Fitter or Millwright), a valid driver’s license, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

N4 in Mechanical Engineering is a plus for progression. The successful candidate will work onsite at client sites, contributing to safe operations, equipment reliability, and on-time service delivery while supporting

• Matric/Grade 12 or N3 with Physical/Engineering Science & Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to zero harm behaviours.
• Equipment Refurbishment: Refurbish pumps and other Weir equipment to OEM standards.
• On-site Service: Perform service duties at client sites including repair and maintenance of pump units.
• Customer Communication: Inform customers of faults and advise on corrective steps.
• Business Growth: Identify on-site opportunities and liaise with Field Service Supervisor.
• Maintenance Execution: Perform prescriptive-based maintenance for equipment reliability.

What You’ll Do

• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
• Equipment Refurbishment: Perform refurbishment of pumps and all other Weir equipment to OEM standards, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• On-site Service: Conduct service-related duties on client sites, including repair services of pump units, daily troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
• Customer Communication: Inform customers of any faults or damages on pumps, advising on necessary corrective steps to resolve issues effectively.
• Business Growth: Identify opportunities on site and liaise with the Field Service Supervisor to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
• Maintenance Execution: Perform prescriptive-based maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

Must-haves:

• Matric/Grade 12 or N3 qualification (with Physical/Engineering Science & Mathematics).
• Qualified Artisan (Fitter or Millwright).
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office.

Nice-to-haves:

• N4 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
