Job summary

Tetra Pak is seeking a Service Engineer in Johannesburg to lead field service delivery, troubleshoot complex issues, and train operators to improve efficiency. You will support contract performance and ensure safety and quality standards across customer sites in South Africa.

As part of the Customer Service Operations team, you will travel to facilities, maintain equipment, and contribute to service improvements while upholding our commitment to food safety and reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Up to 3 years’ experience in maintenance, service, or installation within an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• N6/National Diploma or Trade Test in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Millwright, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Foundational mechanical, electrical, and basic automation knowledge with exposure to industrial equipment installation and troubleshooting (PLC/drive systems advantageous).
• Commitment to health and safety standards; Food & Beverage industry experience beneficial but not mandatory.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Intermediate level of English (written and verbal).
• A proactive, customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and installations.
• Analyze technical issues and elevate when needed using standard operating processes.
• Train customer operators and support production efficiency.
• Monitor service contracts and contribute to business development.
• Ensure compliance with safety, food quality, and reporting standards.
• Represent Tetra Pak professionally and contribute ideas for improving customer operations and service delivery.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Follow all safety protocols in accordance to OHS and Tetra Pak safety regulations and promote a safe working culture in the team.
