Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Electrical Engineer to service clients in and around Paarl. The role requires travel to install, maintain, and repair complex electrical systems, acting as the primary technical contact for clients.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 4 years in field service, with strong diagnostic and communication skills. A company vehicle and ongoing training are provided to support diversified client projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years in a field service or technical support role.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control logic.
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain electrical equipment and systems at client locations.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot electrical issues to identify root causes of problems.
• Conduct repairs and implement solutions to ensure system functionality and minimize downtime.
• Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and maintenance.
• Prepare detailed service reports, documenting all work performed, parts used, and recommendations.
• Manage on-site project execution, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
